I think I am, in a way, like Janie in Their Eyes Were Watching God. How she feels she can't fit in anywhere. That's how I feel in school. All these little cliques going on, and I may show up somewhere every now and then, but I can never stick around too long with one certain group of people. It's not that there's something wrong with them, but I feel like it's me. Somehow, l just manage to feel like I don't belong. Like when everyone's standing around in a circle, and someone accidentally scoots in front of me and doesn't even notice. I would say I kind of just am there. I think that's how a lot of people perceive me to be too- just there.
If I were to be labeled, I think most people would put me with the emo/goth/metalheads or whatever you wanna call it. Honestly, though, I don't see why that would be. I guess because I have a few good friends that would fit in more into that group. And of course, listen to some pretty hardcore music too. That's just me though, and I think as I mature, I get a greater sense of independence and just do what I want, whether I fit with people or not. I don't mind, because I know that even if I'm not part of a certain scene I'll always have those couple really amazing friends I can be my complete self with.
I'm pretty sure it's hard not fitting in though, and I don't guess there's much to be done about it, either. But I do know how Janie would have felt, minus the extremeties she must've faced.

Future Journal
I think my life in 10 years will be UHmazing. I guess I’ll be working, hopefully doing something I love- I don’t know what that would be yet though. Maybe I'll be a millionaire. I do hope to be married, but I’d wait until I have a stable life to have children. I just picture myself living my life to the absolute fullest.

September 11
It's been seven years since September 11, and many things have changed in our country since then. Security procedures, taxes, and gas prices are just a few things that have impacted all our lives, just about everything we do now is because of what happened that day- we just weren't ready for a crisis like that.I can't say I really remember what I was doing at the time, but I think I was at home sick, and I saw it come on on the news. I saw the planes crashing into the towers and people trying to get away from all the debris that was flying out everywhere on the TV, and I felt so sad for them. That's really the only thing I remember feeling: sadness.
If I could help commemorate all the people that died during the attack, I would go to that annual thing they have where the towers used to be, and where everyone talks about the people who died and all the heroes that lost their lives there also.
I don't know if we're safe from another attack, but I do know everyone with the authority is trying to do everything they can to stop it from happening again. You never know what's going to happen though.
Seven long, difficult years for our country.
It feels like it was only last year, but I know our whole country has grown is many ways.

Journal
If I could change one thing about myself, it would be to care about the things that go on around me. I'm so fixated on the future because I'm not where I want to be in the present. I know if I snapped out of my daze I could do so much better in everything I do. It's just so difficult when a lot of things are going wrong and I'm just feel lost all the time, anyway!

Friday!

Today's Friday. We have a game against Iowa Park. I guess I'm excited for it... Band actually got their sets down for the opening song for the halftime show, and we're wearing our spiffy new uniforms. Graves suggested we play some usher songs sometimes, ha, that would actually be pretty cool.
I'm really glad it's Friday because that means I get to sleep in tomorrow morning. I've been so tired lately, I usually always have homework or band or something else going on. I guess that's just high school, though. Last year was so easy compared to this year already! It's crazy, but I'm ready to get out of this town anyway...
