Forever
The other day I was thinking about the past; the people I've met, past friends, and past promises. Where have they gone, what's happened to "forever?" Forever's just another washed out word. I know one person that believes forever means forever. I don't believe in it, for sure! Maybe there will be one forever in your life, a true forever, or maybe a just a couple. And for some people, twinkies might be the only thing that last forever. :)
I'm just glad I have the best friend that can make one forever real for me. Maira, my bestest friend forever, been my best friend for 4 years already. A steady best friend, never having fought! I think that's a really good one in a million friendship, and I think I'm super to lucky to have her.

Holloween Controversy
I think they really have made a bigger deal out of it than it is. It was wrong of Petryk to wear a Hitler costume, but that has to do with his own morality standards. The whole school shouldn't be punished for his little prank. It's a fun holiday, and they should be able to celebrate it at school What they should have done is set rules on what they could and couldn't wear as costumes in the first place. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean anything serious by it, he thought it would be funny, but obviously it's not.

Invisible
I think it'd be complete pwnage to be able to be invisible! I would love to just sit somewhere and watch what people do when they think no one is around. I'm a really curious person, but definitely not gossipy, so I like to know a lot of things, even if they don't matter and keep it all to myself. I guess it'd be like tv, but real real life. And also, if I had an invisibility cloak or whatever I could sneak out and in places super easily and do so many cool things like maybe sneak into a plane and go to the other side of the country! Just pretty spontaneaous things- that's what I would use my invisibility for. The disadvantages of being invisible would be that no one knows your there. If I were to be ghost, that would suck because, well, I would be dead for one, but no one could see me. If I wanted to tell someone something or set something straight I wouldn't be able to and that would bother me so much.Wednesday, October 15, 2008
Bonfire
Having no bonfire this year is pretty upsetting for a lot of people. Personally, I'm not into the whole Friday night lights thing, or the 'football, football, football!' thing. You don't completely have to be to enjoy the closeness and familiarity with football, and during homecoming, it's maximized like 10 times. It's almost a euphoric feeling when you're just cheering around a big bonfire with a bunch of people you love rooting for your team. The fire blazes like our spirits and dedication for the team! Unfortunately, no more of that though.
I think one of the suggestions that came up was to through a rave! I was rooting for that idea, it would be fun if they did it right. Like a blackout, glow sticks, roaring music kinda thing (without the drugs, haha)! That would be super sweet, but noooo... a parade? I'm not a parade sort of person, obviously.

I Wish
I wish there were a law that said teenagers had more liberty and more adult responsibilities. This would be a good law because sometimes I just feel like I'm ready for more.
I guess it's more of a 'let's get rid of some of these laws' kinda thing than a 'this would be a good law' kinda thing. I really think that even though the legal drinking and smoking age is 18 and 21, we should be given more responsibilities because we all know a bunch of teens don't even take that law into account at all. And the ones that don't abuse it, I think are definitely mature to handle the responsibility anyway. I also think this generation has seen much more than the last before becoming a legal adult, so if we're ready for those kinds of things why not more responsibility with those things?

TEWWG Pre Reading Journal
I think I am, in a way, like Janie in Their Eyes Were Watching God. How she feels she can't fit in anywhere. That's how I feel in school. All these little cliques going on, and I may show up somewhere every now and then, but I can never stick around too long with one certain group of people. It's not that there's something wrong with them, but I feel like it's me. Somehow, l just manage to feel like I don't belong. Like when everyone's standing around in a circle, and someone accidentally scoots in front of me and doesn't even notice. I would say I kind of just am there. I think that's how a lot of people perceive me to be too- just there.
If I were to be labeled, I think most people would put me with the emo/goth/metalheads or whatever you wanna call it. Honestly, though, I don't see why that would be. I guess because I have a few good friends that would fit in more into that group. And of course, listen to some pretty hardcore music too. That's just me though, and I think as I mature, I get a greater sense of independence and just do what I want, whether I fit with people or not. I don't mind, because I know that even if I'm not part of a certain scene I'll always have those couple really amazing friends I can be my complete self with.
I'm pretty sure it's hard not fitting in though, and I don't guess there's much to be done about it, either. But I do know how Janie would have felt, minus the extremeties she must've faced.
